Red Hat to acquire of JBoss for 350 million, plus a potential of 70 million, depending on the financial performance.
I think JBoss has a better potential in financial independent than Red Hat, simply because there are more rival in Linux distribution now, and each of them is doing better.

Frank (not Frank Sinatra but a friend of mine) want to buy a notebook. He eying on FTEC notebook, because is very cheap, yet it is.
Since I remember I read the blog from Paul Ooi, I told him, if he has the budget, try not to. Finally he bought a FTEC notebook.
He just use for less than 2 months, and having some problems. The machine will shutdown automatically, he ask me any possibility cause by virus attack? When he shown his notebook to me, I can't even power on the notebook, so I told him, better send it back to FTEC.
After he send it back to FTEC, confirm is a hardware problem. Even Amber Chia can't help this time.

Just talking with friends on Redtone and Mobile money during lunch time. Later my friend show me theSun newspaper, RedTone sell its 93% of Mobile Money stake for MYR14 million cash to Lee Eng Sia (managing director of Mobile Money) and Kuok Group (Robert Kuok, single largest share holder of RedTone).
RedTone will receive another MYR15 million to 25 million over a 10-year period, for intellectual property rights to Mobile Money.
The buyout is subject to shareholder approval.
I don't see any mobile money around, and anyone is using it. See what others talk on RedTone and mobile money here.

What is a flickr badge? Is just like this.
www.flickr.com
|
Some blogger put in their blogs. Is just a few clicks, you can generate you own flickr badge, then paste the code (generated by flickr) to you html page, just that easy.
You can choose different style and layout for your badge, eg. html/flash, vertical and horizontal... Is easy just try it yourself and have some fun.
PS. Since blogger don't allow script tag, I have hard coded the pictures, if you direcly paste the code from flickr, the picture will be randomly displayed when the webpage is refresh.
I found out I can use my Gmail web site to send instant messenger to Google Talk application. If the browser support Macromedia flash, it will show you the chat option on the Gmail web page.
I find it interesting, but my friend told me, is nothing excited, his colleague can send message to MSN through web too.
I told another friend, skype bought by eBay for 2.6 billion. My friend told me, skype is just VoIP and peer to peer technology, is nothing special.
I told the other friend, watch out for Alibaba.com because it has a lot of potential. Then he told me, Alibaba.com is just online Yellow Pages... Ya I think Google is just search engine, AdWords is just online advertisement.
ICQ is just instant messenger acquired by America Online for $287 million USD in cash.
hotmail is just webmail sold to Microsoft for $400 million USD.
I think these 'is just' company is worth look into it.
Why working so hard every day but still complaining, invest in stock market for extra income? and not working on something which is just something and sell it to those cash rich company? Simply they are not just something.

A Palm OS programmer Dmitry Grinberg, hack the Palm TX hardware and add a microphone to it. Check it in palminfocenter. there is a video you can download from here(avi, 4.2MB). Don't know how true it is.
So you can't run a skype on Palm TX because it don't even have a microphone build in.

I use to like Gnome a lot, but since it is moving towards like a bloatware, I think it has less influence to the desktop environment in the futures.
HP announce support Gnome in year 2001, HP return to CDE (Common Desktop Environment) in 2003, as they claim Gnome is not stable.
The open source development of GNOME v2.0 was still on-going at the end of 2002, and did not stabilize in the timeframe that HP had earlier anticipated. This and other business and industry factors required us to re-assess our plans.

Ok, I give up trying to connect to mobile internet. It just fail for me, there could be many reasons from driver problem, dial-up script to service provider. Especially when I know there are many dial-up script (for OS X), that you can try.
Anyone succeed, please let me know.
Basically the mobile internet work like this:-
GRPS You don't really need GPRS or 3G to connect to the internet, even GSM dial-up may work, what you need is to enable data service. GPRS and 3G will have data service, You have call up the mobile service provide to enable the service if it is not enable by default. Some telco provide free service to enable data connection, so may charge minimum fees. Mobile If you need to dial-up (through desktop PC/Notebook/PDA), the mobile phone must have a modem function. I am not familiar with mobile phone, check with the provider. Driver Even your mobile phone have a modem function, you might not able to dial-up. For some Nokia phone, you need to download the driver for window to get it working. Dial-up script Different service provider may need different dial-up script, check with the provider. PPP option May service provider will ask you to disable TCP header compression. OS X, Preference - PPP - PPP Options Windows, Network Properties - TCP/IP protocol - Options Bluetooth Bluetooth is an option, but you need a physical connection connect to the modem (mobile phone). The connection could be an usb cable, Infra red, or bluetooth, they will simulate as a serial connection to the modem (mobile). You might need to enable the the bluetooth service (RFCOMM) in your software. Conclusion Using WiFi is a much easier way to connect wireless to the internet.
Finally I bought the billionton usb bluetooth.
It can pair up with a Nokia 7610 phone, in Windows (XP) and OS X (10.3), but have not luck of dial-up to internet through the mobile.
The mobile phone used as a modem and not a wireless access point.
May be the Nokia 7610 modem function is not working.
